Cole Kaplan's journey in the performing arts began with an unusual challenge: a significant speech impediment that marked his adolescence. Through speech therapy and years of vocal training, he overcame this barrier and actualized his Hebrew name—"קול" (Kol), which translates to "voice."

Learning to communicate with others sparked his love for storytelling.

He graduated with a BFA in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In his training at NYU's Meisner Studio, he performed works by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Lorca, and Miller. Since graduating, his work in theatre has evolved from site-specific park performances to joining AEA, his screen-acting has evolved from student films to premiering at Oscar-qualifying film festivals, and he continues to explore diverse acting mediums including video games and music videos.

He is particularly drawn to writing, directing, and producing stories that explore the non-linear nature of grief and recovery, the tension between science and myth in the pursuit of knowledge, and overcoming shared obstacles to foster a better future. He recently hosted a table read of his original series To Dust, in which he plays a graduate student in paleontology navigating the ethically fraught landscape of fossil auctions. He is currently assembling a production team for his vampire series Love Sucks, with principal photography anticipated in late 2026.
